Tiny and her husband rapper T.I. will be having a Benefit brunch on October 3rd from 2-5pm. Even though this is a private affair you can donate to the cause at their website (official one coming soon) or at your local Alzheimer association. A donation as small as a dollar would help fight find a cure for this disease. Alzheimer’s has affected us in some kind of way whether it’s your grandparents or someone who is close to you who is suffering from this disease. My grandmother is 89 and has some Alzheimers or dementia.
I used to be a nurse aid in college and worked at a nursing home and used to float to the Alzheimer’s unit and let me tell you these patients do not sleep. I would have my care cards and gloves setting up my cart for my shift and some of the Alzheimer’s patients would come and take my box of gloves thinking it was tissues and my care cards thinking it was money. By the time i reached home i was so darn tired from putting the same patients back to bed over and over again. The facility had to paint the walls with colorful scenery that is very busy and cover the elevators with buttons because the patients would wonder; you see Alzheimer patients do not see the same things we see. There is a saying once a man twice a child.
