The 1990s brought the emergence of a female quartet known as Xscape. The multi-platinum group delivered hits such as “Tonight”, “Understanding”, “Just Kickin’ It”, and “My Little Secret”.

Now one fourth of the group, Tamika Scott, is making a name for herself outside of the group by combining her love of music and acting. Scott is a superwoman, juggling roles as a singer, songwriter, producer, and actress.  Her extensive resume includes a breakout role in Tyler Perry’s play Meet the Browns, and a starring role in the play There’s a Stranger in my House. With a string of hits under her belt on movie soundtracks such as Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls and Why Did I get Married?, as well as the upcoming film Good Deeds, Scott shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Soul Train: Your new single is called “So Incredible”.  What message do you hope fans take away from it?

Tamika Scott: Tyler Perry’s upcoming film Good Deeds inspired me to write the song. It has a universal meaning, and it’s a love story in itself, when you find a person that supports you and loves you, they are so incredible. It’s hard to believe in yourself sometimes, so when you find someone that is there for you and put in your life for a reason, then you realize they are incredible. “So Incredible” is about the love of your life.

Soul Train: You have done quite a bit of work with Tyler Perry–from movies to plays, and especially with the music.

Tamika Scott: On the film Daddy’s Little Girls I had a couple of songs for the soundtrack.  On Why Did I get Married? I did the title song, as well as a few songs for the play What’s Done in the Dark and a few songs on Tyler’s film Good Deeds which comes out in 2012.

Soul Train: Sounds like you are a busy bee, making major moves!

Tamika Scott: (Laughs) I guess you could say that.

Soul Train: Do you have an album coming out soon or are you just focusing mainly on soundtracks?

Tamika Scott of the R&B group Xscape will be performing in a stage play called “Somethings Gotta Give.” She is doing a special performance for all her fans on Friday August 19th at 8pm the tickets will only be $15 to you guys and Tamika Scott will be available after to meet & greet and take pictures with everyone who come out that day to show love. Hey everyone i hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer and hope all is well with everyone. I want to apologize for not updating the site like i should. My daughter graduated this year and is heading to High School. I just want to take a minute to post this new track by Xscape’s very own Tamika Scott. The new single is called “So incredible” and it will be part of the movie soundtrack of the new Tyler Perry movie coming soon called “Good Deeds” Tamika wanted me to tell you guys hello and to thank you for all the love and support of all the music Xscape has put out as a group and individually. She is working hard in the studio and she very much would like her music to be in a totally different direction. So please let me and also let Tamika know how you like the track. On a side note my first youtube page was deleted some months ago and i am trying to get most of the tracks back up and i lost many of the files when my PC crashed over a year ago so youtube was the only file. Gah!! and double Gah!! so i am waiting for the ladies of Xscape to resend me what they had back then……..if they can even find it cause that is why they send it to me. LOL. I want to thank everyone who comes to this site and visit and check for updates, I know how much you guys love and appreciate great music especially when these ladies are underestimated. Although Xscape may never be a group again we just have to take them as they are individually as wonderful great talented women and i am happy to be great friends with them.
